Tracking homogeneous objects, such as vehicles or tools, on company premises is not a problem today. But it is a different story when heterogeneous components are supposed to interact with each other. This is precisely the challenge tackled by cc|object tracker. It is a cloud-based IoT solution that monitors different types of objects. These include, for example:
cc|object tracker records incoming object data, processes that data and makes it available in graphical format for use on smartphones and tablets. For example, technicians in the field can locate and identify objects via GPS, bar code or QR code. The app provides relevant information such as site maps, technical data, tools needed and the object’s status. Among other things, users can see the object’s location, which tasks have to be completed and which tools are needed. This is important information that can be visualized as required.
The objects communicate independently, transmitting their data via Long Range WiFi (LoRa®) network. One of the most important fields of application for cc|object tracker is predictive maintenance. Sensors send status data with information about such things as vibrations and temperatures to the cloud service, which interprets the information, produces graphical representations, and sends warnings when needed. cc|object tracker runs on the Microsoft Azure IoT cloud platform, which means it is compatible with all popular mobile devices. Its functionality can be extended through additional software:
